Everyday we receive calls, emails, and direct messages on social media asking us questions about preparing a tiny house for transport. After all you want to be sure everything goes as smoothly as possible! Here are a few recommendations and tips to keep in mind.
The Exterior
When getting ready for transport, checking the tread and PSI of the tires is a very important task. You want to make sure the tires are not dry rot or are significantly low in air pressure. The tires tend to lose air when the unit has been sitting for a long time. To help with loosing air, leveling the tiny house with blocks, and jacks to keep the weight off of the tires when its sitting can be beneficial. Good tires go a long way especially for the person/and or company that is hauling your tiny home. Also,  anything that can come loose or fly off of the outside of the home should be removed such as signs, light bulbs, etc.
The Interior
While preparing the outside of your tiny home is important, the interior is also very significant when it comes down to your personal belonging that are inside. Securing your items and packing them properly will help prevent damages during transport. Dishware, framed photos, and TV's should all be packed accordingly and we always recommend glass showers doors to be taped shut until the final destination has been reached. Although your tiny home isn't traveling all that fast, these items are easily breakable and should be protected properly.
